Using a clay face mask is an excellent way to improve the health and appearance of your skin. Clay masks are made with natural clays that contain minerals and other beneficial ingredients that can help to detoxify, soothe, and nourish your skin.

The combination of clays, along with calendula flowers and colloidal, can help to draw out impurities, reduce inflammation, and hydrate the skin.

  • Antioxidant properties: Calendula flowers contain powerful antioxidants that can help to protect the skin from environmental damage. Colloidal can also help to protect the skin from free radical damage.
  • Anti-inflammatory properties: Calendula flowers have anti-inflammatory properties that can help to reduce redness and soothe irritated skin. Colloidal has a similar effect, helping to reduce inflammation and redness.
  • Hydrating: Calendula flowers and colloidal can help to hydrate the skin and lock in moisture. This can help to reduce the appearance of dry patches and keep skin looking and feeling healthy.
  • Detoxifying: The combination of clays and calendula flowers and colloidal can help to draw out impurities and unclog pores. This can improve the overall appearance of the skin and reduce breakouts.

    How to Use

    1. Start with a clean face.
    2. It is important not to use metal utensils with clays.
With a wooden or plastic spoon mix 1-2 tsp clay face mask with 1-2 tsp water or other liquid into a non-metal bowl. Add more liquid or powder until a smooth paste forms.
    3. Using a brush or your fingertips, apply a thin layer of the clay face mask over your entire face, avoiding the eye and mouth area.
    4. Leave the face mask on for 5-7 minutes or until almost dry. Do not allow mask to fully dry on face.
    5. Rinse off with warm water and pat your face dry with a clean towel.
    6. Follow up with your regular skin care routine, such as moisturizing cream or oil

    Liquids to try:
Flower waters – They are a lovely, gentle and fragrant addition to face masks.

Milk and yogurt – contain lactic acid which acts as a gentle exfoliator, removing dead skin cells and leaving skin soft and smooth.

Aloe vera – anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial, rejuvenating, soothing and calming for the skin, relieves sunburn – stimulates epidermal growth and repair.

Green tea - contains polyphenols, which are plant compounds that have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. This means that they can help reduce inflammation and protect the skin from damage caused by external culprits.

Apple cider vinegar - has anti-inflammatory properties and it consists of acetic acid and alpha hydroxy acid. This means apple cider vinegar can exfoliate the skin, absorb excess oils and unplug blocked pores. It also has the power to restore the proper pH levels to your skin.
