Tobacco Flower Cold Process Soap: A Little Bit Spicy, A Little Bit Sweet

a tobacco flower soap is standing tall packaged in it's biodegradable shrink wrap and simple label. 3 other soaps are tacked on top of each other to show the pretty green and white swirls

This soap was one of those “let’s just see what happens” kind of batches… and I’m so glad I pressed record. In this post, I’m sharing the behind-the-scenes of my latest cold process soap: Tobacco Flower, a surprisingly lovely scent with both spicy and floral notes that I just couldn't stop sniffing while it cured on the shelf.

I used a fragrance oil from Micas & Moore called Tobacco Flower, and to be honest, I didn’t know exactly what direction this soap would take. It’s one of those scents that walks a line—masculine? Feminine? Somewhere in between? I figured a clean swirl design with greens and white would suit it perfectly. Tobacco flowers themselves grow on green plants with delicate white blooms, so that became my inspiration.

Farm Fresh Ingredients

This bar is part of my Farm Fresh line, which means it’s made with skin-loving ingredients like:

  • Beef tallow

  • Lard

  • Goat milk

  • Coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter, castor oil, and more

It’s a hardworking formula that creates a luxurious lather and a bar that lasts. I also include citric acid to help with hard water (which many of us deal with!) and to support a clean, bubbly lather.

About the Design

I swirled together three shades of green—chromium green oxide, sea glass mica, and jungle green—with a white base using titanium dioxide. My goal was to echo the natural beauty of the plant without getting too fussy. Swirls, a skewer top, and a bit of chaos (as usual) created a beautiful result!

As always, I ended up pulling off too much soap for color… one of these days I’ll learn. 😉 But even with that, I think the end result turned out lovely. The scent is strong in the best way, and the bar feels great in hand. I'm testing a few different bar sizes right now, so you might see this one looking a little shorter than usual. Stay tuned for a full post and video on that soon.
